A glimpse into a childhood memory, when the world was as beautiful as it could ever be, playing in the water on a hot summer’s day. The sun is reflected on the surface of the water and makes the splashes around you shine. Everything is glittering and in motion. For Janika Slowik these effects make the world more worth looking at, they are jewellery movements. She creates pieces that play with the surrounding light. They alter it, reflect it, split it into rainbows. They are ‘jewellery moment catalysts’. By wearing them, both wearer and viewer see more of these small, precious details, making their world more beautiful.
