Metamorphosis and the Present in the Stories of 1001 Nights

The stories of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ served as the inspiration for the development of my jewellery. I am fascinated by the interwoven storylines and their references to the frame of the story as well as their symbolism. I was excited to find basic geometric forms in their timeless narrative structure and thus try to fathom the stories’ mysteriousness. I have tried to capture a process without ending – the course of a development – in a shape. My subjects are Clarity and Mystery, narrated through woven fabric in a timeless form.
