The Actual Calculations contemplate whether digital processes can be experienced and if they are similar to the way we experience time. Natural patterns, with their characteristic non-linear movements, support the process of describing our perception of time. Non-linear time is perceived, for instance, when we wander in our minds.
The work comes from my desire to describe time spent in the countryside in summer. I am inspired by the idea that systems based on calculations help describe different phenomena, and 3D-printing allows us to experience these complicated patterns as form. Calculations become objects that we can touch and feel.
